Pasir Panjang Beach– Mukah

Pasir Panjang Park gets its name from the ‘long sandy beach’ in Malay, as this area used to be a sandy beach that stretched from present day Labrador Nature Reserve to the junction of Clementi and West Coast roads.

The 3km long park holds significant natural and maritime heritage, bringing people closer to the Port, or to just have a place to escape the busy city life. Pasir Panjang Park connects Labrador Nature Reserve to West Coast Park, and is part of a 17km route that spans from Labrador Nature Reserve to Jurong Central Park, passing through West Coast Park in the south and Jurong Lake Gardens in the west.

Access to the park can be via West Coast Park in the west, and Pasir Panjang Road (next to Jalan Pelepah) in the east.

The park’s main features:

Sandy vegetation that is reminiscent of the area’s past sandy coastline
Nature playgarden, near Pasir Panjang Food Centre, where children can engage in free play and sensory discovery
Maritime artefacts like horn bollards, ship anchor, telegraph and a cannon
As a nod to Pasir Panjang’s history as home to one of Singapore’s major port terminals, there are three shelters in the park which have been repurposed from shipping containers donated in kind by PSA Singapore.

Pasir Panjang Park is co-designed and co-created with the community as part of the NParks Friends of the Parks initiative. It is the first park to benefit from this community engagement initiative.
