Estonia-tribes

Estonia has several ethnic groups and tribes, including the Estonians, Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians, and Finns:

Estonians: A Finnic people who live in the region north of Latvia. They are one of the three most advanced Finno-Ugric peoples, along with Finns and Hungarians.

Russians: The most significant minority in Estonia, making up about one-fourth of the population.

Ukrainians: A prominent ethnic minority in Estonia.

Belarusians: A prominent ethnic minority in Estonia.

Finns: A prominent ethnic minority in Estonia.

Seto: A people in southeastern Estonia who speak a distinct dialect of Estonian and are part of an Eastern Orthodox religious tradition. Their polyphonic style of folk singing, called leelo, was added to the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage in 2009.

Livs: A Finno-Ugric tribe that was preached Christianity to by a monk from Holstein in 1180.

Other minority groups in Estonia include Jews, Tatars, Germans, Latvians, Poles, Lithuanians, Armenians, Azeris, Moldovans, and Chuvash.
