Iceland-tribes

Iceland is a homogeneous country with no indigenous population and a population that is primarily descended from settlers from Northern Europe:

Settlers

The first settlers arrived in Iceland in 874 AD and continued to arrive in large numbers for about 60 years. Historians believe that 60–80% of the settlers were of Nordic stock from Norway, and the rest were of Celtic stock from Scotland and Ireland.

Language

The dominant language during the settlement period was Old Norse, which evolved into modern Icelandic.

Ethnicity

The population of Iceland is predominantly Icelandic, making up 78.7% of the population. Other ethnic groups include Polish, Danish, and Ukrainian, making up a combined 8.8% of the population.

Religious minorities

Iceland has small populations of religious minorities, including Catholics, Baháʼís, Jews, Buddhists, and Muslims.
