The Kazakhs are a Turkic ethnic group that originated from a combination of medieval tribes of Turkic and Mongolic descent. Some of the Kazakh tribes include:
Alash: An ethnic community
Tore: Descendants of Chingiz-khan
Kozha: Descendants of the prophet Muhammad, his close associates, and other holy figures
The Kazakhs emerged in the 15th century after the disintegration of the Golden Horde, a Turkified state. The Kazakh Khanate was established between 1456 and 1465 by several tribes under the rule of the sultans Janibek and Kerei.
The Kazakhs speak Kazakh, a Turkic language, and primarily practice Sunni Islam. They are native to Central Asia and Eastern Europe, but also have communities in Russia, Uzbekistan, China, Mongolia, and Iran.
For Kazakhs, it is considered a duty to know their genealogical tree, including their jüz. They are also known for helping any relatives who ask for assistance, no matter how distant.
